That is called an agreed draw in advance, which I strongly disagree with.

There was certainly lots of play in that game left, and we all know it!

I fail to see what the recommended posts have to do with you and GP agreeing to a draw in a game after 8 or 9 moves. It certainly isn't fair to the rest i ...[text shortened]...

Most of the recommended posts are insults or ridicule at people, usually right at the top.

There is nothing unfair about draw offers made within the rules at all. A higher rated player offered me a draw, and I took it. We started with Bird's Opening, transposed to the King's Gambit, and Geoff thought he would throw me off with the Falkbeer. When I did not melt from the bluff, he offered a draw in a position where I was slightly better.

Geoff's strategy was to neutralize me and beat everyone else to win the tournament, and his strategy worked. He doesn't like long drawn-out games, so he tries stuff from his bag of tricks, and if the other guy doesn't bite, he tends to offer draws.

(I should also add that Geoff told me that the only reason he entered the tournament was that it needed one more person, and had been sitting in the tournamente queue a while, so he thought he would join just to get the ball rolling.)

I thought if I emerged with an even score against the top guy in the tournament, that gave me a good chance to win. I didn't win every other game, so I did not win the tournament. In retrospect I should have tried to convert the game, but it was one of my first tournaments on the sight, and I let his higher rating overly influence me.

Bottom line is that his tournament strategy worked, and mine didn't.

Every player in the tournament can offer a draw to any other player at any time, and the other player can accept or decline at his discretion.

I also agree that an agreed draw in advance is unethical, but there was no advance agreement to draw. You are just wrong. And to make an unfounded accusation like that is even more wrong.

By people you mean 2 perhaps 3 who seem to roam these forums disrupting threads, making false accusations, and their only contributions to these forums are veiled insults, spam, and vitriol.

They are not names drawn from a hat, as you seem to think for some reason. Go to any given "target's" profile and read their contributions to the forum. Do the same for the person being recommended and you will see the person usually deserves the criticism.

Before you pull the old, "Look who's talking" I will admit I can take a poke here or stir a pot there, but reviewing my list, and most others you will see it is NOT all I or they do... whereas a couple-few users ALL they do is disrupt, bait, and instigate while never contributing anything creative.

He entered the tournament to win it obviously, not just because it needed one more person.

Instead of playing him you decided to take the draw after only 9 moves. Rather it was before the game or after 9 moves makes no difference to me. You still took a draw rather than play the game out.

Lets, hope everyone doesn't play by the example you and GP have shown. One of you lose that game and things can turn out differently in the tournament. GP will tell you himself he can be beat, and you are close enough in rating to be able to do it.

I don't agree on these quick draws at all! Nothing you have said or will say will change my mind on that. What if everyone took the quick draw after 9 moves? Bad example for two strong players to be setting.

You stir the pot more than most.

You also work at turning others against other posters which is obvious by your quote here. You want a certain bunch in the GF, and that is the goal you are working towards. You certainly don't fool me.

You may think you contribute with your attempt at singing and playing the guitar. I suppose it is good for a laugh. I quit listening after a couple of times. I would sooner listen to a cat on a hot tin roof, than you. I know you don't like when people are actually truthful about your singing, probably why you keep striking out at me personally.

I had agreed not to answer any of your quotes as you did with me. You couldn't do it and broke the agreement.

I still miss Ice Cold, who I had nothing to do with driving away as we both know.
He named you specifically as one of the reasons why he left. You try and just kind of pass that off. "OH I don't know why he left" Of course you do, I told you, and he probably did to.

What good do you think this back and forth banter is going to do? Are you going to change my way of thinking, or me yours? It is an absolute waste of time, which is the reason we agreed not to answer each others quotes in the first place.

LOL! I bet you had to google it because when you were a kid you were too busy for TV working a lemonade stand and earning your riches.

As usual you're WRONG, google it? I watched welcome back kotter, one of my favourites as a kid.

Is this what you give to the forums Phlabs, cheap pot shots, and jealousy of others?

It certainly what you show, then talk about others baiting & instigating.

You watched it as a kid, so did I... yet you feel the need to ask ME if I watched too much TV as a kid.

Who fired the first shot? You, as usual.

The only reason I started to talking again in the forums with you was because you followed me around and posted your little snide remarks in threads like BBQ and others.

They were not responses direct, but were snide remarks aimed at my posts.

Example, I made a joke about playing shots chess in my BBQ thread. Next you 'worried' about drinking and driving. That's just being a jerk on purpose, and taking pot shots at me over a joke. Quit it, and we can continue to not interact.
